2021 Redistricting

Under Section 59.10 of the Wisconsin Statutes, county governments in Wisconsin must create new county board district boundaries every ten years, immediately after the federal census.  In 2016, the Dane County Board of Supervisors adopted Ordinance Amendment 2016-OA 32, which created a nonpartisan independent citizen Redistricting Commission.

On November 18, 2021, the Dane County Board of Supervisors voted 33 to 1, with one abstention, to approve a new county supervisory district plan (2021-RES-250), as recommended by the Dane County Redistricting Commission. The new district plan was signed by the County Executive on November 11, 2021 and went into effect immediately. The new districts will be used for county board elections starting with the spring 2022 elections.

An online map of the new districts is available on the Wisconsin Legislative Technical Services Bureau WISE-DECADE platform.
