The Dane County Farmland Preservation Plan makes farmers eligible for state benefits under the Wisconsin Farmland Preservation, including income tax credits, under WI State Statute Ch. 91.10.

The Farmland Preservation Plan also establishes policies for the protection of farmland and the agricultural economy in participating towns, cities and villages within Dane County.

2022 Update and Recertification

On December 19, 2022, the Dane County Board of Supervisors adopted 2022 OA-30, which adopted the 2022 Dane County Farmland Preservation Plan as part of the Dane County Comprehensive Plan.
