Housing is a basic need for all Dane County residents, it determines where we send our children to school, where we raise our families and where we will grow old. There are thousands of Dane County residents who can’t find affordable housing because of their particular life situation (age, income, ability, family structure and other possible limiting factors.)
The newest housing initiative in Dane County is the Dane County Regional Housing Strategy. The purpose of developing the Dane County Regional Housing Strategy (RHS) is to build on local efforts, assess the ongoing challenges, and work together to help expedite the development and preservation of affordable/workforce housing.
DCHI is a public-private partnership working to develop a network of resources to expand housing options in Dane County.
Adopted in 2007 and amended in 2016 this chapter provides housing goals and objectives for Dane County.
